Temple Corridor
The Tianjin Eye, also known as the Tianjin Yongle Bridge Ferris Wheel, spans the Hai River, connecting the Hebei District and Hongqiao District. It's a marvel of dual purpose—part bridge, part Ferris wheel—serving as both a tourist attraction and a functioning transportation link.
As the only Ferris wheel in the world built above a bridge, the Tianjin Eye is a beloved landmark of the city. One full rotation takes 28 minutes, and at the highest point, visitors are treated to a panoramic view stretching up to 40 kilometres in every direction—which is exactly how it earned the name "Tianjin Eye."
In March 2023, the Tianjin Eye completed a full replacement of all 48 cabins. While the classic blue and red colour scheme remains, the colours are now brighter and more vibrant. The interior design follows four themes—"harmony" (modern simplicity), "wisdom" (intelligent technology), "joy" (warm and romantic), and "fun" (parent-child cartoon)—offering visitors a more personalised sightseeing experience. The metal seats have been upgraded to comfortable, soft sponge cushions, and each cabin features a different colour scheme. The most eye-catching is the parent-child cartoon theme, with sofa seats in green and bright orange representing spring.
The renovation focused on making the cabins smarter. The new cabins are equipped with sky screens and ground screens that play different animation effects, including starry skies, romantic cherry blossoms, and brilliant fireworks. They also come with charging ports and Bluetooth devices, allowing visitors to play their favourite music. Colourful atmosphere lights at the top of each cabin enhance the immersive experience. In addition, call systems and video monitoring have been added to keep an eye on visitors inside the cabins at all times.
